FedEx truck driver shot in Monroe

Evan Johnson Monroe police are investigating the shooting of a FedEx truck driver.
Executive Officer Reggie Brown says the driver was heading to work on Monday morning with an empty FedEx truck and for an unknown reason the driver detoured from his route to work and stopped in the 300 block of South 24th Street where he encountered two suspects. Brown says the driver and suspect started struggling and a shot was fired.
The driver was hit by a bullet. Detective Brown says the driver, whose name is not yet being released, is stable at an area hospital.
