The following is a news release from Idaho State Police. On Feb. 12, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated multiple crashes on US 26 at the intersection of State Highway 43 (Beachs Corner). Mandy J. Schofield, 40, of Idaho Falls, was driving a blue 2010 Nissan Altima westbound on US 26. Schofield drove off the roadway, went through a sign and struck a streetlight, which then fell into the westbound lanes. When the streetlight fell, it struck a white 2017 Ford F350 pick up truck, which was being driven westbound by Troy D. Weaver, 44, of Idaho Falls. The streetlight then came to rest in the middle of the westbound lanes. Ashtyn E. Goree, 18, of Idaho Falls, was driving westbound on US 26 in a black 1998 Subaru Legacy. Goree drove over the streetlight and then collided with a grey 2013 Ford F450 pick up truck, which was being driven eastbound on US 26 by Quinton E. Bair, 42, of Rigby. Schofield was not wearing a seatbelt, all other drivers were wearing a seatbelt. All lanes of travel were blocked for approximately 1 hour. ORIGINAL STORY: IDAHO FALLS — Idaho State Police are investigating two crashes that occurred Monday morning on US 26 at Beeches Corner (Ririe Hwy / Hwy 43) near milepost 338. The driver of one vehicle crashed into a light pole which then fell on top of another vehicle, according to ISP. Another driver drove through the scene and over the light pole, losing control of their vehicle and hitting another car. Police say nobody was injured in either crash but both lanes were blocked.
