VIDEO: Log truck driver “rammed through protestors holding a banner”

A number of log truck drivers were caught on camera as they were confronted by environmental protesters outside of a mill in Scotia, California, yesterday. Environmental activists with the group Save the Mattole’s Ancient Forest gathered outside of the Humboldt Redwood Company Mill to protest the logging of old growth forests yesterday. A video shared on Youtube by user EF!

Humboldt is captioned, “On August 30, 2018 at 2:58pm, a log truck rammed through protestors holding a banner outside the Humboldt Redwood Company mill in Scotia, CA. It was a terrifying moment because the truck came so close to mowing people down. The protest was calling for an end to Humboldt Redwood Company’s plans to log legacy forests and build new roads in the North Fork of the Mattole River watershed.” In another video, you can see a protester climbing up on and clinging to one of the logging trucks.

In the video, you can see that several trucks attempting to enter the facility were stopped by the protest activities.
