Man killed after 18-wheeler crashes into East Nashville home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was killed after an 18-wheeler slammed into an East Nashville home Thursday afternoon.

It happened in the 800 block of Cherokee Avenue just after 4 p.m.   Police spokesperson Kris Mumford said 46-year-old David Davis was sitting on the front porch when the crash happened.   Officers said the truck was up on a hill loading a paver on to a flatbed when it rolled. One man tried to chase it down.  Emergency crews remain at the home and police have taped off the area around the house. Tennessee Highway Patrol is responding to do a Commercial Vehicle inspection to figure out why the truck rolled.
