Watch Jeep Wrangler Explode After Head-On Collision With Semi

An 18-year-old college student is in critical condition after his Jeep Wrangler ran headlong into a semi truck and burst into flames.

This is some pretty hairy footage, so you might want to avert the gaze of any younglings in the audience.

Samuel Lachance was heading back for his second semester of college when his Jeep Wrangler TJ swerved into oncoming traffic. Unfortunately for everyone involved, that oncoming traffic was a massive semi truck with a full load of cargo in the back. A tiny Jeep running headlong into a tractor-trailer means that the Jeep is the definite loser here.

But it got much worse. After striking the semi, Sam’s Jeep punctured the fuel truck and caused a massive explosion.
Everything was caught on dashcam footage taken by a trailing car last Tuesday. We see the snowscape of Dublin, New Hampshire just moments before Sam’s TJ swerves into the oncoming lane, strikes the truck, and then bursts into flames.

Miraculously, Sam survived. After the accident, the father and son duo in the dashcam car rushed out to pull him from the wreckage and probably saved his life. Sam was then airlifted to hospital in critical condition. The 66-year-old truck driver was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Doctors are amazed that Sam even survived his ordeal. Besides burns covering much of his body, Sam suffered a traumatic brain injury that caused bleeding within his cranium. He was put into a medically induced coma in order to heal, but has since regained consciousness and is able to speak to his parents.

Sam doesn’t remember what caused him to swerve into the oncoming lane. Police are still investigating.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe has been set up to help out Sam and his family during this difficult time. The GoFundMe was set up by Jeep enthusiasts who got wind of the story, and as happens within Jeep circles, they banded together to send love and support to the miracle 18-year-old survivor.
