WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The driver of a tractor trailer was taken to the hospital after the rig rolled over on Interstate 81 in Luzerne County.

The crash happened just after 6 a.m. Tuesday in the northbound lanes near exit 168 (Highland Park Boulevard). The driver was stuck in the cab for more than two hours while crews worked to cut him free. The truck was hauling sand. Investigators have not said what caused the wreck. The southbound lanes were not affected, but people using the exit and Route 309 dealt with big delays during the morning commute.
