TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries on Interstate 10 on Thursday morning.According to FHP, the crash happened around 7:50 a.m. on I-10 eastbound near Meridian Road.The crash report states that a driver in a semi-truck was traveling in the outside lane of I-10 near SR-8 and traveled over a slight hill then saw that traffic had stopped ahead. The truck driver swerved to avoid the stopped traffic and jackknifed, causing the driver to over-correct.The semi-truck was unable to avoid a collision and crashed into two vehicles, a Chevy Silverado and a Chrysler 300.The driver of the Chrysler was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.The semi-truck driver and the driver of the Chevy were not injured.Troopers say the semi-truck driver was cited for failure to use due care.The two vehicles had to be towed from the scene and the semi-truck was able to drive away.The right lane was blocked for over an hour, causing traffic to back up past US-27. The scene is now clear and all lanes have since reopened.
