Dallas, Texas – Police say they are looking for a truck driver who allegedly ran over a 4-wheeler along Interstate-35E in Dallas leaving two young women severely injured.
The families of Cassandra Lizardi and Kaylee Jensen, both 21, are asking for help in identifying a truck driver they say is responsible for an accident which left both women suffering from numerous fractures, head and back injuries. The women say they were on their way to get dinner the evening of January 13 traveling along I-35E near the Dallas North Tollway, when a big rig changed lanes and struck their vehicle.
The women say their car became trapped underneath the tractor-trailer and was dragged. Their car also struck two other vehicles, according to investigators. Deputies say the damage to the 4-wheeler is consistent with the young women’s account.
The truck driver continued along I-35E without stopping. TxDOT cameras did capture still images of the accident which also confirmed the women’s account. However, cameras do not capture video footage and officials say the images are not sufficient in identifying the tractor-trailer.
Therefore, they are asking anyone who might have witnessed the accident or might have had contact with the truck driver to come forward. Authorities are describing the big rig as having an orange cab and a white trailer.
