An SUV crossed the double yellow center lane divider and crashed into a dump truck on Highway 22 (also known as Front Street) in Buffalo on the morning of Tuesday, March 13, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.   A 19-year-old man from Davenport was driving west on the highway in a Mercury Mariner when he crossed all four lanes of traffic and struck the dump truck, which was traveling east, head on. The truck was driven by a 58-year-old man from Blue Grass.   The driver of the Mercury had to be extracted from the vehicle and airlifted by Medforce to an Iowa City hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the dump truck was treated and released on the scene. The road has now reopened to traffic after being closed immediately following the accident shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
