This probably takes more skill and talent than any other type of racing, including the “Shockwave” jet truck. These transmissions are very picky, you have to match the engine and transmission RPMs almost exactly before they will go into gear. If you don’t time your shifts perfectly, you’re out of the race. It happened once or twice in this video… And to further complicate things, road speed, wind resistance, road grade, the difference in the gap between gears (ratio), engine geometry, etc all determine how much time is necessary to get the RPMs to match.
