A food truck driver was convicted Friday on all five charges, including involuntary manslaughter, in a deadly crash in Loudoun County last September.

Tony Dane was convicted by a jury in the Sept. 8, 2017, death of Erin Kaplan, 39, of Ashburn. The crash south of Leesburg killed Kaplan, a young mother, and critically injured four others when the converted food truck collided with a car. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said on the day of the crash, “At 4:50 p.m., the driver of a decommissioned bus converted into a food truck was traveling east on Watson Road when they struck a passenger vehicle traveling northbound on Evergreen Mills Road.”

Eight people were involved in the crash including five who were trapped in a car. Kaplan was in a car with two other adults and three children. Three people in the food truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
