OXNARD, Calif. – Just a day after a plane crashed on Highway 101 in Agoura Hills, a semi-truck carrying 70k pounds of bananas overturned during rush hour traffic on Wednesday.

Just before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday a semi-truck carrying seventy thousand pounds of bananas rolled over on the northbound side of Highway 101 near the rose Avenue on-ramp. California Highway Patrol says the driver was not injured and no fruit spilled out of the truck.

A CHP officer waved other drivers on through crash scene via the left shoulder to keep at least one lane of the road open. A tow truck was called out to help remove the semi-truck from the middle of the highway.

Traffic on the northbound side of the freeway is backed up all the way to the city of Camarillo. No word yet on when the scene will be cleared and the highway reopened.

Alex Biston KEYT is LIVE in Oxnard where a semi-truck carrying 70,000 pounds of bananas overturned on the NB side of Highway 101.
